Scott graduated from Susquehanna University. While at Susquehanna he started every game at attack for the Crusaders, served as a captain his junior and senior year, and graduated as the school's all-time leading scorer. Upon graduating from college, Scott spent his first two years coaching lacrosse at the collegiate level. He started his coaching career at his Alma Mater Susquehanna University and then joined the coaching staff at The Ohio State University.
While at Ohio State, Scott learned about the FCA Lacrosse ministry through their team Bible study. After the completion of Ohio State's season, Scott moved to Maryland to come on staff full-time with the FCA Lacrosse ministry. Scott and his wife Lanier currently reside in Chapel Hill, NC with their daughter Bailey, their son Brooks, and their dogs Madison and Emmy.
